Larus fuscus fuscus 2cy, May 13 2011, Eilat. Picture Amir Ben Dov.
Complete plumage replaced for 2nd gen feathers, fresh. Note the new 2nd gen P10 with a mirror. Secondaries and rectrices typical 2nd gen pattern. Typical for nominate fuscus 2cy: a 'post-juvenile' moult that is complete and takes place on the winter grounds well within the first 12 months. In most birds, the sequence in this moult is different from the complete moult as found in e.g. Herring Gull.
