Larus fuscus fuscus J4KL April 08 2011, Ashdod. Picture Amir Ben Dov.

This day at Ashdod was the best ever for fuscus with J-rings from N Norway. Five rings! And this day was also the new record ring reading for a single day at one site. J4KL is one of these J-rings, and it has a light logger attached. Morten Helberg and colleques put this on the bird when they ringed it in June 2010 as adult on the nest, the weight is 2 grams. There were 8 such logger used in 2009 and five of them got back in 2010; and Morten put on another 12 loggers on birds in 2010. The loggers give plots with an accuracy of 150 km, and it is very good news for him that one bird was photographed in Israel, to check accuracy and the exact position on one of them.

Ringing data: J4KL was ringed on June 20 2010 at BUØYA, NORDHORSVÆR, Sømna, Nordland, Norway (65°19'06"N 011°37'51"E). It was caught at the nest and ringed as female 4+cy. In the picture, it is 5+cy.
