Larus fuscus fuscus adult J703 2011-2013, Ashdod, Israel. Pictures Amir Ben Dov.

J703 was ringed on June 21 2006 at Sørhorsvær, Sømna, Nordland, Norway (65°18'53"N 011°38'08"E). It was caught at the nest and ringed as male 5 cy+.

Not much change in appearance: again very large mirror on P10 (but not on P9!) and black on bill in spring.

Bird seems to be moulting coverts.

Complete moult still not started by late September. Note speckling in iris.

Note black on upper mandible, primaries slightly bleached brown-black with the tips worn away and large mirror on P10.
